BioGRID Version 2.0.61 Release (71,209 New Physical and Genetic Interactions Added) |
| February 1, 2010 - 1:15 am |
The BioGRID’s curated set of physical and genetic interactions has been updated to include an additional 71,209 interactions. The BioGRID 2.0.61 release includes new genetic interactions from Costanzo M et al: “The Genetic Landscape of a Cell (PMID 20093466)” and physical interactions from Jeronimo C et al: “Systematic Analysis of the Protein Interaction Network for the Human Transcription Machinery Reveals the Identity of the 7SK Capping Enzyme (PMID 17643375)” and Sowa ME et al: “Defining the human deubiquitinating enzyme interaction landscape. (PMID 19615732)”. These datasets are available immediately via our search index and also in all associated download files (http://www.thebiogrid.org/downloads.php). A special thanks to Michael Costanzo, Charlie Boone and their co-authors for providing us with their genetic interaction dataset and to Anne-Claude Gingras for curating physical interaction data.
These additions bring our total number of non-redundant interactions to 232,183 and raw interactions to 333,226. New interactions will be added in curation updates on a monthly basis. Please let us know if we have missed or incorrectly reported any interactions by sending an e-mail to biogridadmin@gmail.com. |
Introduction of Quantitative Genetic Interaction Evidence Codes |
| February 1, 2010 - 1:03 am |
For the 2.0.61 update, the BioGRID has introduced two new experimental evidence codes for quantitative genetic interactions, termed Negative Genetic and Positive Genetic. In light of the
massive amount of new quantitative genetic interaction data generated in high-throughput studies, we have assigned the associated evidence codes to distinguish this data type from qualitative genetic data. All quantitative genetic interaction data will be categorized as either Negative Genetic or Positive Genetic with values reported for each interaction. This change requires that several quantitative studies currently reported in the BioGRID will be reassigned to the new evidence codes.
The affected records are: Schuldiner M (2005) (Pubmed: 16269340), Collins SR (2007) (Pubmed: 17314980), Roguev A (2008) (Pubmed: 18818364), Wilmes GM (2008) (Pubmed: 19061648), and Fieldler D (2009) (Pubmed: 19269370); each of these datasets had previously been assigned evidence codes of Phenotypic Enhancement and Phenotypic Suppression. The new quantitative genetic dataset reported in Costanzo M. et al. (2010) (Pubmed: 20093466) has been entered with the new codes. All other qualitative genetic interaction data will remain unaffected.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. Definitions for all evidence codes used in BioGRID can be found in our help wiki at http://wiki.thebiogrid.org/. |
New Dataset of 74,984 Saccharomyces cerevisiae Genetic Interactions from the Myers, Andrews and Boone Groups |
| January 21, 2010 - 11:26 pm |
The BioGRID has posted a new dataset of 74,984 new genetic interactions in Saccharomyces cerevisae as reported in Costanzo M et al: “The Genetic Landscape of a Cell (Jan. 2010)”. This dataset is available immediately on our download page (http://www.thebiogrid.org/downloads.php), in its original format, under the heading: “Published Datasets” and “Costanzo2010” and will be incorporated into the main BioGRID search results on February 1st with our 2.0.61 release.

BioGRID available on PSICQUIC |
| November 2, 2009 - 9:38 pm |
BioGRID interaction data can now be accessed programmatically from the Protemics Standard Initiative Common QUery InterfaCe (PSICQUIC) web service – see http://code.google.com/p/psicquic/ for more information. Please note, the data available on this web service conforms to the PSI-MITAB format and has MI ontology terms and not BioGRID evidence codes. A future implementation of PSICQUIC aims to allow all information contained in PSI-MI 2.5 XML to be accessed, which will allow retrieval of BioGRID evidence codes. |
